Homemade Fire & Ice | Red Carpet Facial

Save for nights when your better half is not home...

At Home Facial for Glowing Skin

It's been called the Red Carpet Facial because the Fire & Ice is a great facial for the day-of any major event. There's no down time, unlike chemical peels or invasive facials with extractions. I like to do a homemade version of this facial a few times each month to keep my skin glowing, soft and clear, while saving some money! Most importantly, it rids the face of acne scars and sun spots. LOVE THIS!

Disclaimer: Do a test area before applying to your face. (CLEARLY) If you're allergic to any of the ingredients, do not include them.

Ingredients:
(I just do these by sight. About a tsp each, but I add a bit more lemon juice)
  • Honey
  • Fresh Squeezed Lemon (real lemon, not bottled lemon juice)
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
Directions
  • Mix all ingredients together, I like to have a higher lemon to honey ratio. It may be a bit runny, if it's too runny to pick up in your hand, add more honey.
  • Apply in a circular motion to clean face - It should sting a little bit, but nothing too painful.
  • Leave on your face for 25-30 minutes
  • Clean face and wipe off any residue
  • Swipe an ice cube over your face to close the pores
  • Finish with a serum or moisturizer. I suggest Is Clinical Hydra Cool Serum, which is often used in Spa Fire & Ice facials.
*NOTE: Your face may be a little flushed for about 15 minutes after, this is normal!*
After: Barefaced Close-up

Why This Works

Nutmeg: Anti-inflammatory, with magical powers to erase acne scars
Cinnamon: Exfoliant, in addition to a lot of other nutritional benefits
Honey: Antiseptic with healing properties
Lemon: Tightens skin, minimizes pores and is used as a natural astringent

Cheers to happy skin in 2013!
