How to Plan a Handy Manny Party

Can we plan it? YES. WE. CAN!

Invites:

Handy Manny has some work to do and he needs your help! Check in to your Construction Leader [Birthday Child's Name] at [Date & Time]. We will be working at [Party Location], make sure to wear your working clothes, things may get messy!

Attire:
  • Hard Hats from a local party store - $1-2 each
  • Toolbelts, Click here for the tutorial
  • Name tags - Yellow spongey stuff (I believe that's the technical name) get the kind with the sticky back and make it easy on yourself! I added little pieces of construction paper stop lights and "Hard Hat Zone" signs. These signs also designated teams.

Games
  • Tape Measure Limbo: Pretty self-explanatory, two adults hold either side of a tape measure and the kids limbo underneath

  • Paint Job: Manny needs help painting for his neighbor, fill waterballoons with paint, and let the kids throw the balloons at a board.

  • Build It!: Split the kids into two teams, give them equal building blocks, tell them they have 2 minutes to build the highest tower. If the tower falls, they need to rebuild before the time is up.

  • Lopart's Gumdrop: Mr. Lopart can be a bit clumsy, toss these gumdrops to your partner to help him! This is a simple waterballoon toss game, teams of two toss the balloon until it breaks. Last team with a balloon wins!

  • Toolbox Relay: Get the kids ready for the construction site with this relay. Split them into two teams behind a line. Across from them, place a toolbox for each team, in each tool box have a hat and toolbelt. Rotate each kid three times, they'll run to the tool box, grab a hat, run back to you, run back to the tool box, tie on a toolbelt and then run back to the line. First team to be fully costumed wins!

 Lunch Break:

This construction team has been working hard and can use a break! Lay out wood planks (sanded, please!) on cement blocks for the kids to sit on. If that's too rustic for your taste, park benches will work too! Pack brown paper bag lunches for the kids with sandwiches, juice boxes or water, and snacks.

Goody Bags:

Grab some (unused) quart-sized paint tins from your closest hardware store. Using your computer label maker, create a cute label "[B-day Kid's Name] Painting Co." and then write or type each child's name on individual tins.

They will use these to grab something from Lopart's Candy Store!
