SPA BIRTHDAY: A Party Even Your Tween Can't Hate!

What girl doesn't love a spa day? And isn't it better when your girls come too!? Plan a Spa Birthday Party for your tween at your home with these easy tips!

Invite Tip: Try an Evite or Facebook Event, have your girl do it so she feels involved and has control over the look, ensuring it will be "cool" enough for her and her friends. Not that you're not cool, you totally are.

Decorations:
  • Stick to a light, calming color scheme. Go with what your girl likes. If she hates pinks and purples, then do cool blues and minty greens. If she's classy chic, do an Asian-inspired theme with green, bamboo and stones.
  • For some serene tunes, pull up Pandora and type in "Spa."
  • And of course, have plenty of teen magazines on hand for the pedicures!
Spa Time:
  • Upon arrival, give each girl a headband to hold back her hair for the facial. You can usually find packs of these at Dollar Stores or Target.

      • Set a table with a couple mirrors and containers for your masks, face wash, and creams. Also have a couple of water-filled dishes with pebbles and lavender oil for the girls to soak their hands.

      • At another table, set out everything a girl needs for a manicure and lots of nail color choices. Make sure to put seats on either side of this table since the girls will do each other's nails.

      • In a third spot, fill a couple of tubs of warm, soapy water. I found some cute hot pink tins at the Dollar Store! For girls to soak their feet.
      • Have some girls apply their masks, others soak their hands, and the last group soak their feet. The girls with masks will perform manis and pedis on the girls who were soaking, then everyone will swap to the next station.

      Added Touches
      • If supplying a robe for each girl is too much an added expense, ask in the invite that each girl brings her own robe.

      • Create cute personalized water bottles for each girl by tacking on glittery scrapbooking letters onto colorful labels, which you can find at most stationary stores for under $1.

      •  Set out veggie and fruit trays for the girls to snack on between beauty treatments.
