Three Steps to Frump-Free in February!

We're five days into No Frump February, and I have to admit, I'm already losing momentum! So I thought I'd take this chance to offer some frump-free tips! It just takes some small changes to make a big difference!

1. Decide what it is that makes you feel frumpy (aka how you wouldn't want your ex boyfriend or his new girlfriend to see you if you happen to bump into them while shopping). For me, it's wearing my glasses. When I wear my glasses it's usually a sign that I'm tired, my allergies are bugging me or I was just too lazy; in other words, I do not have positive associations with my glasses. My goal is to take the time to put in my contacts each day. This is just an example; glasses may make you feel like a sexy librarian, and if that's the case, rock 'em!

2. Change your mindset. Ok, that's a bit loaded, so let me break it down for you. Don't view No Frump as a hassle, try to view it as spending time on yourself, pampering yourself and making yourself feel beautiful. Another mindset to change is "I will not," don't deprive yourself by saying "I will not wear sweatpants," instead say I will; "I will wear yoga pants that make me feel amazing," "I will only wear bottoms that enhance my outfit." I will.

3. Start small. Take 1 & 2 and push them together. Find what makes you feel frumpy and determine the alternative to that. Instead of attempting to look completely put together for 28 days, choose one thing that you can make a habit. Maybe wear your hair down every day, try a different hairstyle every day, dress the part every day or try a different lipstick everyday. Subtle changes are sometimes the most beautiful.
