Foil: Not Just for your Leftovers

I bought this shelving unit at target for $15 -- BORING!

 (Nevermind the mess) 

I added texture to the unit by adding aluminum foil. I added a coat of Mod Podge, followed by the foil, followed by more Mod Podge, and I got this: 

 It was a bit too shiny for me, and too silver for my soon-to-be all white room. So I added a splattering of white paint. Before the paint dried, I wiped off some areas so that the silver and texture would still show through, and this is the finished product!
